Deputies: Homeowner opens fire on burglary suspect in west Houston

HOUSTON - A homeowner opened fire on a suspect during a burglary, deputies say.

It happened at around 3pm Thursday at a residence on Branchwest in west Houston. The Harris County Sheriff's Office says a homeowner came home to find his home in the process of being burglarized and shot a suspect.

We're told the suspect then fled to a nearby apartment complex on West Oaks Plaza Dr. near Richmond.

The suspect was then transported to the hospital. No word yet on the suspect's condition.
