Deputies: 6 teens arrested in home break-in in NW Harris County

HOUSTON – Six teenagers have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a home in northwest Harris County.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office say the teens used a basketball to break a window at a home on Eagles Glide. An alert neighbor called 911 and gave deputies a play-by-play so they knew where to search for the intruders once they arrived.

"A neighbor saw the suspects break a window and enter the unoccupied home and called police," said Lt. Jeff Steauber.

"When HCSO deputies arrived, the suspects quickly scattered. Two of the suspects and the teenage girls were arrested on a nearby street. Two other suspects ran into a wooded area but were quickly detected and apprehended by an HCSO K-9 team"

Deputies said the two males arrested later, on a neighborhood and still carrying some of the stolen items.

All six were taken into custody and they are facing charges of burglary of a habitation. They include two females, ages 14 and 15, two 15-year-old males and two 17-year-old males.

Deputies said all six teens attend High Point Alternative School, not far from where the burglary took place.

The names of the two adult suspects have not yet been released.
Deputies say no one was home at the time.
