Bus driver pleads guilty in crash while transporting students

CYPRESS, Texas – A school bus driver has admitted to being on drugs while transporting students.

Catherine Joy Daffin, 47, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of child endangerment. She received a sentence of probation.

The Cy-Fair Independent School District bus Daffin was driving on Feb. 7 crashed in the 13000 block of Copeland Oaks Boulevard. It almost hit a house.

The bus was filled with Hamilton Elementary students who live in the neighborhood.

According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, Daffin tested positive for cocaine after the crash.

Daffin is no longer employed by the school district.
