Baytown man wanted for kidnapping girlfriend

BAYTOWN – Authorities are asking for help as they search for the Baytown man wanted for kidnapping his girlfriend at gunpoint.

A Baytown police officer responded to a home in the 200 block of Long Driver Monday afternoon for the report of an assault.

Officials said the 21-year-old woman told police her boyfriend, 21-year-old Jorge Cardenas, had forced her into his car at gunpoint and drove her to the house on Long Drive. Police allege Cardenas thought his girlfriend was being unfaithful in their relationship.

The suspect had left the home before police arrived.

He drove off in the victim's grey 2009 Toyota Corolla with Texas license plates CR2Y252. Police said the vehicle has damage to the driver side front fender and "Hello Kitty" stickers on the rear passenger windows. 

Baytown police said the victim was not injured, and the officer filed an emergency protective order for her.

Anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts or has information about the stolen vehicle should call Crime Stoppers at 281-427-TIPS. 

Cardenas is wanted for a charge of aggravated kidnapping.
