HOUSTON - Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office's Special Victims Unit and Crime Stoppers need the public's help in identifying and locating a person of interest wanted in connection with last month's sexual assault of a 63-year-old woman in northwest Harris County.

The victim told deputies a man broke into her apartment in the 10000 block of Old Bammel North by kicking in her patio door in the early morning hours of June 20.

The woman said the man threatened to kill her if she did not comply with his demands. He raped her, then stole her cellphone and other personal items before fleeing on foot.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Surveillance images captured photos of a woman who walked into a store on July 6 and tried to sell the victim's cellphone to a store owner. The woman is only a person of interest and investigators would like to speak to her in hopes of obtaining the attacker's identity, investigators said.

The attacker is described as a black male between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, and has a big build with a large belly. He had marks underneath both eyes. He was wearing a blue and white striped collared shirt, blue denim shorts and black suede shoes.

Anyone with information about the identity and/or location of the person of interest and/or suspect in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or send a tip via iWatchHarrisCounty.
