4 arrested in pawn shop robbery in NW Harris County

HOUSTON – Four suspects were arrested after an armed robbery at a pawn shop in northwest Harris County.

There were eight customers and employees inside the Cash America on Gears Road on Monday morning when three men with guns went in. Those men left with a bag full of money.

The gunmen struck just after the shop opened and didn't stay long. Employee Lawrence Grant was just pulling up in the parking lot as they were coming out.

"I didn't see who exactly was in the truck I just, it was a glimpse, looked this way and that was about it," said Grant.

"About 9:15 multiple actors came in presenting handguns demanding money from the store. They took an undetermined amount of cash and fled," said Sgt Joe Freeman, with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

With a fourth suspect behind the wheel of a getaway car, the gunmen sped off headed north. Deputies tracked them to the intersection of Parker Road and the Hardy Toll Road where they abandoned the car and took off on foot.

Sheriff's deputies and Houston police sealed off the neighborhood and began searching with police dogs. After about an hour and a half, they rounded up four suspects.

At this point no charges have been filed. Investigators say they're still trying to determine if others were involved.
