Embattled Galveston Co. judge resigns

GALVESTON COUNTY – Galveston County Court-at-Law Judge Christopher Dupuy has resigned from his post.

The Office of County Judge Mark Henry announced the resignation Thursday afternoon.

Dupuy, 42, faces several criminal charges and was suspended earlier this year. He faces multiple counts of perjury and abuse of office.

Judge Henry has accepted Dupuy's resignation which takes effect at 5 p.m. Friday.

Officials said a special meeting will be held Monday morning to appoint Dupuy's replacement.
