Man accused of assaulting grocery store clerk wanted

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Sheriff's deputies in Fort Bend County are asking for your help to find a robber who assaulted a grocery store clerk.

It happened at around 12:24 a.m. Friday at the Kroger on Highway 6 and West Airport Boulevard near Sugar Land. According to investigators, the man forced the woman to the ground, grabbed cash from the register and ran out of the store.

The thief is described as a white or Hispanic man between 5 foot 1 to 5 foot 5 in height with a slim build. He was carrying a green "sporty" style backpack and wearing a black hoodie and tan shorts, deputies said.

Investigators would like to talk to this customer who detectives say got a close look at the man.

Detectives also would like to talk to a black man who was in the store at the time of the robbery and might have details about the suspect.
