Fatal house fire in Fort Bend County

Two bodies have been recovered, officials say they are recovering the third

FORT BEND COUNTY - Emergency crews from at least four fire departments have responded to a house fire in rural Fort Bend County.

Officials said the fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the 9900 block of Johnson just north of the town of Orchard.

Fire officials said finding water to put out the fire was an issue because the house is out in the country. Crews had to bring in tankers of water to help fight the fire.

Fort Bend County officials said three children and three adults were believed to be inside the home when the fire started. The three children, a 17-year-old boy, a 10-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy are accounted for. Officials said the three adults are unaccounted for.

As firefighters continue to put out the fire, authorities said at least four investigators with the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal's Office responded to the scene.

Two adult bodies have been recovered.

As of 9 p.m. Thursday, officials are in the process of recovering the third body.
