Deputies find nearly $170K during traffic stop on Highway 59

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A traffic stop in Fort Bend county led to deputies finding $169,632 in cash.

According to the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force, a Houston High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area initiative composed of local and federal agencies, found the cash concealed in a box in the back of a vehicle Monday on Highway 59 and Isleib Road near Beasley.

Isidro Sosa, 60, of Olmitio, Texas, was charged with money laundering, a 2nd degree felony.

He posted a $15,000 bond and was released from the jail on Tuesday.

Investigators said narcotics task force agents seized $386,332 in three traffic stops so far in May.
