Man found shot to death in parking lot of Houston-area convenience store

A man was shot and killed Friday morning outside a convenience store in northwest Harris County.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call around 9:55 a.m. in the 11900 block of Bammel North Houston Road.

An HCSO deputy arrived and immediately began attempting life-saving measures. Deputies with Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office and EMS crews also responded and worked to save the man.

Despite their efforts, the adult male was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was believed to be in his 30s.

Crime Scene Investigators and Homicide Detectives remain at the location processing evidence.

Investigators say they found a significant amount of firearms evidence in the parking lot.

“We see a lot of pieces of evidence out there, primarily firearms evidence,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said at the scene. “It looks like a perhaps over 20 firearms casings were found, but we don’t know if they’re all connected.”

Authorities are also looking into reports that someone may have recently arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound. Investigators are working to determine whether that case is confirmed and if it is connected to the shooting.

No suspect information has been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
