HOUSTON – Students have returned to the classrooms, and this year, things look, well, relatively normal.

School districts in Texas have lifted mask mandates and other COVID-19 measures and schools look more prepandemic than at any point during the last two years. But, it’s not exactly business as usual.

Research shows that the pandemic’s disruption and remote schooling had a profound impact on students’ learning.
