HCSO: 1 dead, 4 injured after fight at sports bar turns deadly in west Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – One man is dead and four others are injured after a fight inside a west Harris County sports bar turned deadly early Saturday, according to investigators with Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened in the 16200 block of Westheimer Road near Wingate Park Drive shortly before 1 a.m.

It was unknown what led to the fight, but according to HCSO Sgt. Dennis Wolfford, deputies believe it stemmed from an “unprovoked assault” between two groups of people inside the sports bar.

Investigators said shots were initially fired at the front door of the sports bar.

That was when deputies said the fight later spilled out into the parking lot, and three people, including one woman, opened fire.

Five people in total were hit, including the three alleged shooters, according to deputies. One man died at the scene.

Two people were transported via Life Flight and two others were transported via ground to area hospitals. All are in stable condition.

An estimated 100 people were inside the bar at the time the shooting occurred, according to investigators.

Multiple weapons were recovered at the scene.

An investigation is still ongoing as deputies learn more.
