1 person killed, 3 others injured during fight between neighbors, police say

HOUSTON – One person was killed and three others were injured Sunday during a fight between neighbors, authorities said.

At about 4 p.m., officers with the Houston Police Department were dispatched to a mobile home park at 1081 Telephone Road in response to reports of a shooting in progress.

When officers arrived, they located four people suffering gunshot wounds. Paramedics declared one of the individuals, a man in his late 20s, dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation determined the shooting stemmed from a disagreement among neighbors, police said during a news conference late Sunday. Two women got into an argument, a physical altercation ensued and at some point two men began shooting at one another. During the shooting, one man was fatally shot, another man was grazed by a bullet, one of the women was shot and the adult son of one of the women was shot multiple times. Investigators said the women may have been arguing over a loud noise disturbance.

A man involved in the shooting was taken into police custody.

Police recovered two weapons from the scene.
