Woman found shot multiple times dies in north Harris County, authorities say

HOUSTON – A woman is dead after she was found shot several times in north Harris County, authorities say.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Thursday that the shooting happened around 11 a.m. in the 900 block of Cypress Station Drive. When responding officers arrived to the scene, investigators said they found a woman dead, who had been shot several times.

“Upon arrival, units found the body of a female deceased in the courtyard area of the apartment complex,” said HCSO Chief Deputy Edison Toquica.

The suspect fled on foot, Gonzalez tweeted.

“We heard the ambulance and stuff so we came outside and we walked around and we saw the lady,” Alexandria Joseph, a neighbor, said.

Investigators also said the woman’s boyfriend, who was with her at the time, is considered a person of interest and has yet to be located.

“He was gone by the time that deputies arrived. We are looking for him to try and get some more information,” Toquica said.

This scene is less than a half-mile from the scene where two men were found dead earlier this week. It’s unclear at this time whether the scenes are related in any way.

Neighbors told KPRC 2 this is the very same complex deputies responded to a double shooting yesterday that left 2 people dead.

“Nobody moves. When you hear shots, no one moves because you hear it every day, every night,” Joseph said.

“It has been determined that there is positively no nexus to the shooting today.”Although the shootings aren’t in any way connected, neighbors tell us the violence is concerning,” Toquica said.

“Anxiety be through the roof over here,” Joseph said. “Last night I couldn’t even really sleep. Because I wanna know what’s going on because I wanna be alert.”

Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the Harris County Sheriffs Office.
