PASADENA, Texas – One person is dead after a fiery crash on Highway 225 near Beltway 8 in Pasadena Thursday morning, investigators said.
Pasadena police said they were called to the scene around 5:20 a.m. Officers said when they arrived, two cars were engulfed in flames. A person was still in one of the cars and the vehicle may have stalled, investigators said. Police said that the vehicle was in the center lane and had emergency lights on. The car appeared to have been rear-ended by a driver in a Jeep Wrangler, officers said.
Police said the driver of the Jeep Wrangler might not have seen the victim. He was treated at the scene and released, officers said.
The victim has not yet been identified, investigators said.
All main lanes of Highway 225 and Beltway 8 are closed for repairs since the fire damaged some of the powerlines.
