Houston-area school districts seek more flexibility from Texas Education Agency

SUGAR LAND – Superintendent of Houston-area school districts are calling for the Texas Education Agency to allow more flexibility and local control over reopening decisions. Many said the TEA guidelines don’t speak to the specific needs of the districts.

Gov. Greg Abbott also agreed that school districts should be able to adjust reopening strategies based on the impact of the coronavirus in the area.
