HOUSTON - From Sydney, Australia to Laredo, Texas, Joel and Victoria Osteen are packing stadiums for a Night of Hope. This year's tour will reach 11 cities across the globe, with music, worship and inspiration.

The Osteens just wrapped up a Night of Hope event in Miami. But, away from the bright lights and stadium crowds, another Lakewood Church project took shape. Members of the church, 50 of them from Houston, travelled to south Florida for the Generation Hope Project.

The project involves young adults who are all volunteers, eager to make a difference. Their mission is to change the circumstances of despair and disappointment and to be a part of the solution in communities around the world.

They cleaned, painted and helped landscape a community center in Miami's inner city. Volunteers helped distribute food to needy families at a local food bank and they performed volunteer work at several Miami area churches.

Victoria Osteen visited a children's home where she read to kids and gave away signed copies of her children's book. The couple also received the keys to the city of Miami and Doral, Florida.

Schools, senior centers and victims of disasters around the world will benefit from the Generation Hope Project. With the tragedies in Boston and West on the top of everyone's minds, we caught up with Joel Osteen just before the Miami stadium event for his words of encouragement and hope.

"You know, one thing I learned from the tragedy in Texas and Boston, every day is a gift from God. There's no guarantee of tomorrow and I think it's very important that we take time for the people we love. Even though we go through things we don't understand when you put your faith in Him, I believe God will bring you through it and give you grace for every season," Osteen said.

The Night of Hope events continue through december at stadiums around the U.S. and the world.
