WASHINGTON - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is asking for information regarding a man who is suspected of sexually exploiting a child.

Federal officials were made aware of the images of the suspect, John Doe 27, engaging in sexually explicit activities with a child in April.

The FBI says the images are being circulated on child pornography forums on the internet.

Officials say the images were enhanced and show John Doe 27 inside a residence with a distinct plaid chair. The photos show he has male pattern baldness and a ring his right ring finger. Based on audio from a video, authorities believe the suspect refers to himself as "Jimmy."

Based on the images, investigators say the suspect appears to be a white man, possibly in his 40s or 50s, with dark hair and dark eyes.

The FBI says there are no specific details linking the suspect to a particular state or region of the United States.

While his identity and whereabouts are currently unknown, the FBI asks anyone with information to submit a tip online or call the FBI's toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
