Jogger, 19, killed by hit-and-run driver in San Jacinto County

SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas - Authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a 19-year-old jogger in San Jacinto County Tuesday night.

According to DPS, a young woman was jogging eastbound on FM 2666 at Red Road, four miles west of Shepherd, Texas, around 7:30 p.m. when she was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle fled.

The victim, identified as Josey Scott, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said there was minimal amounts of debris left at the scene. 

DPS troopers believe the vehicle may be a teal or green Chevrolet Sienna 1500 pickup truck, model year 1988-98, with extensive damage to the front right portion of the vehicle.
