JJ Watt talks about his 5th annual Charity Classic this year at Minute Maid Park

HOUSTON – JJ Watt is hosting his fifth annual Charity Classic Softball game May 13 at Minute Maid Park.

“(In) the off-season you don’t really get a ton of chances to be around your fans. So for us to get out there and get in front of fans and have a little fun with it – all while raising tons of money for kids across the country,” Watt said.

In 2016, the event was moved to Minute Maid Park where it was a huge success, with more than 30,000 fans attending.

The event raised $1.7 million for Watt’s foundation, which helps kids in schools across the country.

“Our fans have been unbelievable. They raised so much money for kids. We donated to schools in over 25 states. So were in over half the country now and I’m just so thankful. So hopefully this year is another fun adventure,” Watt said.

Watt said the annual game is one of his favorite days of the entire year.
