Jerome P. (Jerry) Martin was named vice president and general manager of KPRC 2 in February 2011. He has more than 30 years of broadcast experience.

Martin comes to Houston from Indianapolis, where he was vice president/general manager of WXIN-TV (Fox59) and WTTV-TV (Indiana's 4) since August 2004.

Previously, Martin served as vice president/general manager of WBDC-TV (WB50), Washington, D.C., from 2000 to 2004. From 1997 to 2000, Martin served as vice president/general manager of WTIC-TV, Hartford, Conn. He was responsible for the day-to-day management of WTIC, and, under a local management agreement with Tiberius Broadcasting, WTXX-TV, Waterbury, Conn.

Martin served as general sales manager of WTIC from 1993 to 1997. Previously, he was general sales manager of WTXX from 1992 to 1993.

Earlier positions include national sales manager at KTXL-TV, Sacramento, Calif., from 1987 to 1991; account executive at Petry Television from 1984 to 1987; and account executive at WJAR-TV, Providence, R.I., from 1980 to 1984.

A native of Pittsburgh, born Nov. 23, 1957, Martin holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maine, Orono.
