Jeremy Lin appears on cover of GQ

HOUSTON - New Houston Rocket Jeremy Lin is featured on the cover of next month's GQ Magazine.

In the article, Lin admits he doesn't know much about Houston.  Local 2 got a few people to fill him in.

"I still haven't learned as much as I wish I did," Lin said after Rockets practice Tuesday.  "I love it out here.  People are nice and (there's) really good food.  That's what I have learned."

"What should Mr. Lin know about the great city of Houston?" former Houston Texan Chester Pitts said. "Where do we begin? Well, if you get outside the city, $1 per square foot goes a very long way.  And there's no state (income) tax."

"We're also officially America's most diverse city," Houston Mayor Anise Parker said.  "I know that all of the various communities of Houston will be supporting Jeremy Lin."

There is plenty of diversity in Houston's weather, too.

"Here in Houston, the weather always changes," KPRC Local 2 meteorologist Mary Lee said. "From rainy and stormy to sunny hot and humid, it's why I love it."

Houston is also a good place to plant some roots.

"Wonderful place to raise kids," Pitts said. "Lots of good people. They treat you well around here. People just walking down the street and out of nowhere sometimes will just say hello."

"This is also America's coolest city, according to Forbes magazine," Parker said with a smile. "And of course, we have a very cool mayor."
