Young woman found shot to death in Missouri City field

MISSOURI CITY, Texas – The body of a young female, possibly a teenager, was found lying near a group of pump jacks in a desolate Fort Bend County oilfield Sunday.

Houston police homicide detectives said the victim was shot multiple times and left lying on an oil field service road near Blue Ridge Road in Missouri City.

“About 3 p.m. Sunday we received a call from an oil field service worker, checking the oil field back here, when he observed a body lying next to one of the pump jacks,” Lt. Larry Crowson said.

The body was discovered near the 16000 block of Blue Ridge Road.

Homicide investigators are at the scene along with the Houston Medical Examiner’s Office.

Detectives said they are not sure if the victim was murdered in the desolate area or if she was killed someplace else and her body was dumped.

The identity and the age of the victim have not been released, but authorities said they believe she was between 17-22 years old.
