Info needed to solve rash of pharmacy metal thefts

HOUSTON – Investigators are searching for the thief or thieves who have stolen metal from pharmacies in Houston and Harris County.

Houston police and Harris County sheriff's deputies said there have been at least 16 thefts of metal from CVS Pharmacy locations between February and August.

Surveillance cameras captured images of a theft at a store in the 4900 block of F.M. 1960 about 3:45 a.m. on Aug. 16.

A man got out of a white truck and went into a fenced off area where the business' HVAC unit and other utilities are located, investigators said.

Detectives said the man stole a significant amount of copper and then drove away.

Investigators said they do not know how many people are involved in the thefts.
