HOUSTON - Hundreds of service men and women are in Port O'Connor for a-once-in a-lifetime bonding experience.

They'll be heading out for a weekend of deep-sea fishing for the "Warrior Weekend".

The Wounded Warriors were greeted with a heroes' welcome, by hundreds of Houstonians at Bush Intercontinental Airport on Friday.

Joshua Sorrento, a wounded warrior said, he has never experienced a welcome like this before.

"It's incredible, it's a very big shock," he said. "It means a lot and it hits the heart," he said.

"Warrior Weekend" was put on by the Wounded Warrior organization.

The annual event honors Army and Marine veterans who sustained life-altering injuries during combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
