Ex-husband of missing League City woman charged with murder, police say

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – Missing League City woman ex-husband has been charged with murder in connection to 30-year-old Ann-Christine Johnson's death Saturday after remains were discovered at his home during a search warrant, police said.

Shaun Philip Hardy was arrested Friday around 10 p.m. and taken to the Galveston County jail after he was charged with tampering with evidence, failing to report human remains and murder.

Police said he is charged with first-degree murder in connection to Johnson's death, but have not confirmed if the remains are hers as of yet.

"They had found the body in Sean's house and it was a female wrapped in plastic. That is all they could tell me," said Stephanie Johnson, mother of Anne-Christine Johnson.

Johnson said she got the call from investigators that she had been dreading.

The remains have not been positively identified, but police suspect its Anne-Christine Johnson.

"I am in prison now for the rest of my life," Johnson said.

"I’m upset right now because I knew it all along," Jamell Bogard, a long-time friend of Anne-Christine Johnson said.

Her friends said they have feared the worst ever since she went missing.

It's been 18 days ago since she was reportedly last seen at Sean Hardy's League City home.
