HPD seeks public's assistance to find sexual assault suspect

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest

HOUSTON - The Houston Police Department's Sex Crimes Division is asking for the public's help to identify a man who sexually assaulted a woman.

Authorities say the assault happened around 3 a.m. Oct. 12 at an apartment complex on the 5400 block of Braesvalley Drive.

The man covered the victim's mouth with his hand and threatened her life, according to police. Investigators say he then forced the victim into a nearby closet and assaulted her.

The Houston Police Department describes the suspect as a black man with dark complexion and a thin muscular build. He is believed to be about 20 to 25 years old and is about 6 feet tall. Police say he has a deep voice.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or the Houston Police Department. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for any information that leads to the identification and arrest of this suspect.
