HPD seeks driver from fatal hit-and-run accident

The driver of this Dodge Challenger is accused of fatally hitting a motorcyclist and abandoning their vehicle afterward.

HOUSTON - A 21-year-old man died after a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 10 on Sunday.

It happened on the 13400 block of East Freeway at about 12:40 a.m.

The victim's identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Police say a the driver of a black Dodge Challenger was driving westbound on I-10 and failed to control speed before hitting a white Suzuki motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene.

The driver of the Dodge fled westbound on I-10 and abandoned the vehicle near John Rallston Street, according to HPD.

Anyone with information on the person and whereabouts of the Dodge driver is asked to call the HPD hit-and-run unit at 713-247-4065 or Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
