HOUSTON – A horse was killed after it was hit by a Houston police officer in an SUV on Thursday.
Police said the harnessed horse was hit in the 2000 block of West Little York Road, causing the street to be closed for some time.

Police believe the horse may have escaped and ended up on the road.
The officer was not injured.
