HOUSTON - A man was found dead floating in Brays Bayou Saturday, according to the Houston Police Department.
Homicide investigators responded around 9:30 a.m. to the 5200 block of Carrolton Street in southwest Houston after receiving a 911 call from a construction worker who discovered the man's body.
Police said the construction worker was checking on a project when he saw the body float by. Homicide investigators and the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office came out to investigate the scene.
Officials said it was the body of a man, but that is the only identifying information they have.
"We can't indicate how long he has been in there," HPD homicide detective Shaun Sylvester said. "That's something the ME's office will have to help us out with."
Police will likely also be checking to see if there are any missing persons cases that match the description of the person they pulled out of the bayou.
An autopsy will determine the man's cause of death.
Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
