HOUSTON - A man police said led them on a short chase Friday afternoon in northeast Houston wasn't alone -- he had his 2-year-old son in the pickup truck with him.
Houston police said they got a call from a Texas Department of Transportation crew that saw a man driving erratically near the Loop and Hirsch.
When officers tried to pull him over, he refused and led them on a chase that lasted just a few minutes before he finally pulled over, investigators said.
It wasn't until after they got the man out of his pickup truck that they found the boy inside the vehicle, detectives said.
Police called the boy's mother and she picked him up shortly after. He was not injured.
HPD said the chase is under investigation. It's unclear why the man didn't stop.
