Houstonians enjoy cooler temps while they last

Warmer weather makes a comeback

HOUSTON - We had a chilly start to the week Monday with morning lows down to the mid 50s in Houston with cloudy skies.

The skies cleared, giving way to mostly sunny skies. The sunshine helped to warm us up into the low 70s.

At the University of Houston, students wore long sleeves and long pants as they went walked around campus.

Some joggers at Memorial Park also bundled up.

"You dress a little warmer, you get ready for it," one runner said. "Got to wear some gloves, got to jacket up and got to wear some long johns underneath."

"I brought a sweater just to stay a little warmer and I run faster," another runner said.

Tuesday morning lows will drop down to the upper 50s in Houston. Afternoon highs will climb to the low 80s with partly cloudy skies.

We will continue to warm up even more as we head through the week. Gulf moisture also makes a comeback for the middle to end of the week, giving us a slight chance for a shower.
