HOUSTON - Partly cloudy conditions will rule across Houston through Friday afternoon.
A 20 percent chance for rain showers remains in the forecast well south of Houston and down the coast, near Matagorda Bay, Palacios, and Victoria. In Houston, dry air aloft will keep the rain away.
Into the weekend, expect partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures. Saturday will start near 70 degrees, but as the day progresses temperatures will reach the upper 80s. Once again, Saturday afternoon should be rain-free in Houston, but a 20 percent chance for scattered showers remains along the coast south of town.
Higher atmospheric moisture could fuel showers as temperatures reach afternoon highs.
Sunday promises to be dry across the board, as the deeper layer of tropical moisture south of the city retreats south and dry air covers the entire region.
Highs on Sunday, under partly to mostly sunny skies, will be near 90 degrees.
