HOUSTON – Houston police officers made 107 Super Bowl-related arrests during the 10-day period leading up to the game, according to authorities.
Police said the 107 people who were arrested were believed to have been in Houston for the big game. Twenty-one of the arrests were related to prostitution, 19 were related to public intoxication, 11 were related to trademark infringement, eight were related to assault and eight others were related to outstanding warrants.
Five arrests were made at the Super Bowl, police said. One of the people arrested was charged with trespassing after he jumped onto the field after the New England Patriots’ win.
These numbers do not include arrests that may have been made by Harris County agencies.
Prostitution-related arrests
Authorities said a three-county human-trafficking task force, which includes local and federal agencies, made a total of 217 prostitution-related arrests during the 10-day period. Only 21 of those people were in Houston because of the Super Bowl, authorities said.
Police released the mugshots of 106 men who were arrested during the operation. They described these men as "johns," whose charges range from prostitution to indecent exposure to compelling prostitution by force.

The number of arrests made this year was down from 189 arrests in 2014, the last time Houston hosted the Super Bowl.
