HOUSTON - Madison High School was on lockdown late Tuesday afternoon while police with the Houston Independent School District searched for a person with a weapon near the campus.

At 2:40 p.m. HISD police received a report of a suspicious person with a gun near the school in the 13000 block of White Heather Drive near West Orem Drive.

No one was allowed in or out of the school while officers patrolled the area. They did not find anyone.

Students were dismissed at their normal time of 3:45 p.m. However, they were let out class by class.
