Aurora, CO – Under the most trying times, Houstonians proudly show their generosity. And we're seeing it again after the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

Houston actor Brooke Singer has been in Aurora this Summer as a guest actor with Ignite Theatre.  The massacre happened right across the street from their rehearsal space. In fact, members of the cast and crew would have been at the movie premiere that fateful night had they not cancelled rehearsal earlier in the day.  Suffice to say, the tragedy hit way too close to home. So the cast and crew decided to do something to give back to the community and help their neighbors heal.

When "Spring Awakening" opens Friday night at the local Aurora Fox Arts Center, it will be dedicated to 6 year-old Veronica Moser-Sullivan, the youngest victim killed.  Each following performance will honor another victim who lost their life.  The company is doing thirteen shows, one for each victim killed, with the final performance on August 26th dedicated to the families of the victims, the survivors, and the inspiring community of Aurora.

Ignite Theatre Co-Founder/Executive Artistic Director Keith Rabin Jr. laid out the plans in an email: "The Ignite Theatre will have a donation booth in the lobby of the Aurora Fox each night of Spring Awakening to collect donations to be turned over to Community First Foundation each week for distribution to their recommended organizations in support of the victims and their families, a list of which is at www.givingfirst.org."
