Home invasion suspects lead police on chase from Cinco Ranch to SW Houston

HOUSTON - Police have arrested one of two suspects after they led officers on a high-speed chase that spanned from Fort Bend County to southwest Houston early Tuesday.

Fort Bend County Sheriff's deputies say there was a party going on at a home in the 4300 block of Iron Castle and Kelliwood Greens Drive in Cinco Ranch around 3:30 a.m.

Witnesses say one man who was at the party stole a safe and threatened people with a gun.  The man then took off with another man at the party, while the victims called 911.

The suspects jumped into a white Toyota Camry and sped off, leading police on a high-speed chase across town. Speeds reached up to 100 miles per hour, police say.

The chase ended at Clarewood and Hillcroft in southwest Houston after the getaway vehicle ran over spikes placed in the road by officers.

The suspects bailed out of the vehicle took off on foot.

HPD set up a perimeter around the Sterling Point apartment complex in the 6600 block of Dunlap Road, where they arrested one suspect.

Ceundric Campbell, 26, faces an aggravated robbery charge and an evading arrest charge.

Witnesses say they do not know who the men were.

"We were scared, we were petrified.  We all just got on the ground.  We didn't have any boys to protect us, we didn't have any guns, we didn't have weapons in the house," says victim, Nimra Bano.

The second suspect remains on the loose.  He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build and short black hair.  He was wearing a multi-colored shirt and colorful KD shoes.  He was also carrying a black leather backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.  All tipsters remain anonymous.
