3-year-old child struck in hit-and-run; driver sought

Incident happened while child was walking alongside his mother

HOUSTON – Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Division are asking for the public's help in finding a hit-and-run driver.

It happened when a 3-year-old boy was walking alongside his mother around 9:30 p.m. on July 11 in the 1900 block of E. Crosstimbers Street in Houston.

Authorities said as the mother and child walked, a white pickup truck with an unknown license plate number struck the child. The driver left the scene without rendering aid to the child.

The child was taken to a hospital for injuries suffered during the accident, authorities said.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect in this case. Authorities said information may be reported by calling 713-222-TIPS (8477), submitted online at crime-stoppers.org or by texting TIP610 plus the information to CRIMES (274637). All tipsters remain anonymous.
