HOUSTON - An HISD security officer accused of recording students inside a boys' restroom is facing new charges.
Originally, Yandry Jimenez Rivero, 20, was charged with improper photography. Now he's charged with four counts of possession with intent to promote child pornography, which are felonies. He is also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Rivero is accused of recording students in May and June at the Energized for Excellence Charter School, at 6201 Bissonnet Street. According to court documents, Rivero went into a stall inside the boys' restroom, held his smartphone over the top of the nearby stall in a secretive, voyeuristic manner, then took multiple videos of young male students inside the stall.
Also according to court documents, witnesses identified one of the alleged victims as an 11-year-old student at the school. Witnesses are still working to identify the three students in the videos recorded in May.
