HOUSTON - A school district is apologizing after a senior school administrator made some inappropriate comments.
The comments were made by Dr. Tameca Richardson at an all girls assembly at Yates High School.
The comment included an offensive slang word usually directed towards women to describe how some of the girls dress. The comment mad some parents upset.
HISD said Richardson was trying to install pride, not offend, when she made the inappropriate comment.
"Although the administrator had good intentions and was trying to install pride and purpose in the students, her approach and tone were perhaps inappropriate and not approved by the district."
The district did apologize and said this will not happen again.
