HOUSTON - One person died Wednesday after a fire broke out at a home near the Royal Oaks Country Club, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived at around 10 a.m. to find the home in the 11200 block of English Rose near Wilcrest fully engulfed in flames.

Two people made it out safely, but firefighters located a 49 year old woman on the second floor. She was pulled from the burning home but died at the scene.

HFD says the house incurred heavy, fire, smoke and water damage. One alarm was pulled and about 50 firefighters responded, says HFD.

Fire officials say four people live in the home, but only three people were in the house at the time.

Harris County property records show the home is owned by Clay and Susan Flint. But HFD investigators have not confirmed the identity of the victim or said what the relationship was between the victim and the two people who survived.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
