HBU player accused of sex assault appears in court

HOUSTON – The second of two student-athletes at Houston Baptist University who are facing sexual assault accusations by a fellow student turned himself in Monday.

Kyler Henson appeared before a judge for the first time Monday afternoon.

Dennis Houston turned himself in over the weekend.

Both are listed on HBU's football team roster.

Henson heard the case against him in probable cause court. He is accused of aggravated sexual assault.

Houston, 18, appeared in district court Monday morning.

The alleged incident happened in late October at a campus apartment on Beechnut in southwest Houston after both suspects and the victim attended a party together.

Court documents show the female student claimed she felt sick after she had a drink at a party and would periodically black out.

After court, Houston's attorney said the judge outlined the rules.

"Today Judge Brown entered a no-contact order prohibiting Mr. Houston from having any contact with the complainant witness, the same order that was issued at the probable cause hearing," Houston's attorney Joe Bramanti said.

Houston's hearing was reset to Jan. 9.
