HOUSTON - While attempting to arrest a suspect wanted on an assault warrant, Harris County deputies stumbled on a large drug stash in northeast Houston.

According to Harris County Sheriff's Office, when deputies arrived at the house in the 7700 block of Sterlingshire, two people ran inside and locked the door.

Deputies demanded the men open the door, and several minutes later one of them complied.

Once inside, deputies found two weapons and several large bundles of marijuana. It added up to 72 pounds with a street value of about $100,000.

John Smith, 30, Davion Richards, 23, and Bailey Lang, 31, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. Dechone Godfrey, 36, was arrested on several outstanding traffic warrants.

Deputies are still looking for the man that brought them to that house in the first place. He has been accused of assaulting a family member.
