Hairstylist's wallet stolen by two women

HOUSTON – A hairstylist's wallet was stolen by two thieves, who carried out an elaborate plan, which included distracting the stylist.

Hairstylist Victoria Ramirez is the first to admit her clients are more like friends. So when two women whom she had never seen before walked into her salon, she became a little suspicious.

One of them immediately approached her and started making small talk.

"She was asking me about the kind of work I do here, how much we charge and the products we sell here," Ramirez said.

While the one woman distracted Ramirez by asking her questions, her friend saw the chance to reach over the front counter and swipe Ramirez's wallet right out of her purse. They both left.

"I had $400 and some very important documents in there," Ramirez said.

Ramirez had no idea what had happened until 30 minutes later when she went to grab her wallet to go to lunch. When she couldn't find it, she checked the surveillance system and saw it had been stolen from her purse.

"The money I can get back. I'm just worried about my documents that they have now," Ramirez said.

Thinking back on it, Ramirez said both women seemed nervous and she wishes she had paid more attention.
