Gunman gets away after shooting into car, injuring one person in north Houston

HOUSTON – A man is in the hospital after someone shot at a car in north Houston.

Investigators said two men and a woman were inside a car that pulled into the Oakridge Apartments on Rushcreek at Northborough Drive around 11 p.m. Thursday when someone started shooting at them. One passenger was shot in the back, police said.

According to police, the driver put the car in reverse with the passenger's side front door still open, hit a pole at the gate entrance, sped across the street, knocked down a wrought-iron fence and crashed into the brick wall of an apartment building while trying to get away.

The victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition. The other two people in the car were not hurt.

It is unknown what led to the shooting.

Police have not made any arrests in connection to the shooting.
