SPRING, Texas – A beloved Spring restaurant is back open for the first time since Harvey.
The storm filled Gringo's Mexican Kitchen on Cypresswood Drive with 37 inches of water.

After more than three months of restoration work, the restaurant reopened last Tuesday fully remodeled.
"We had the flood, we had the devastation, but we came back and the community has appreciated us coming back. Just a little reminder that Gringo's is greater than Harvey," said operating partner Joel Perkins.
The company made sure to keep employees on the payroll by transferring them to other locations.
"I had to go to the Kingwood location, but I was so thankful I had a job to take care of my family, my kids, for that I will be forever grateful," said server Angel Barzilla.
Gringo's even raised more than $90,000 to help employees affected by the hurricane.
"We lost our home, we had 4 feet of water in our house. If felt like I not only had an employer, but I had a friend by my side to help me out. If felt really good to have that helping hand," said server Omar Medina.
For now, the Cypresswood location is only open for dinner, but will resume lunch service Jan. 2.
