HOUSTON – A grass fire on Wednesday produced thick smoke as it got dangerously close to homes in the Westchase area of west Houston.
The fire was reported just before 1:30Â p.m. near the intersection of the Westpark Tollway and Beltway 8.
A Houston TranStar camera showed the smoke was being blown over the tollway.
Video from Sky 2 showed the fire was out by 2:05 p.m.
Firefighters were busy spraying water on a fence line that lined the back of the neighborhood near a power line right-of-way.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear what started the blaze.
