Magnolia ISD spokeswoman Denise Meyers told KPRC that the school district did receive the email, and that the school’s technology department is “working on the matter.”
It’s an issue that Google is also addressing online. The search giant tweeted Wednesday that the phishing email is being investigated. Google wrote: “We encourage you to not click through and report as phishing within Gmail.”

Users have retweeted the messages nearly 2,000 times.
Magnolia ISD is instructing staff to not open the messages, and delete them. If users have opened the emails, they are asked to change the account password. If further permissions were granted to the account, the school district is instructing users to shut down the computer, move to another and update the account password from that account.
