The Lowe's store in North Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, hired Owen Lima, who struggled to find a job because of his brain injury and his need for his support dog, Blue.

Store manager Paolo Gallo told BuzzFeed Canada that Lima is well known in the community.

"The customers are happy that he actually has a job, and they're happy that we took the dog in with him," Paolo Gallo told BuzzFeed Canada.

Lowe's shared a picture on Twitter Tuesday of the two new hires. The tweet received nearly 2,000 likes and more than 1,100 retweets.

The same post on Facebook has more than 16,000 shares.

Many people are praising the company for supporting people with disabilities.

"As a person with a physical disability who also had difficulty gaining employment in the past too - kudos! Thank you!" Twitter user Becky Warren said.

"What an amazing show of giving back, and leading the way for others to follow such a remarkable example. Thank you!" another user tweeted.

"I am so touched that you gave this man a job and the chance to gain his dignity and self worth back. Thank you," Facebook user Lisa Cashin Overton wrote.

Lowe's spokeswoman Sandy Indig said Lima and Blue will be greeting guests at a new store that just opened on Monday, according to the Huffington Post. Indig told the outlet the support dog would not be a problem.

"My understanding is that the dog can be petted if invited by Owen because he's really there for Owen, but if Owen invites them to pet the dog then it's OK," Indig told the Huffington Post.

The North Regina store is a new location in the area. The grand opening is today.
